Police and Crime Commissioners will have an important role ensuring that national bodies, particularly the new National Crime Agency provide the services the need to help them achieve their local objectives. Commissioners will have a leadership and scrutiny role nationally as well as locally.

Police and Crime Commissioners will also I suspect find themselves lobbying MPs on a wide range of areas, particularly where they find the law is not helping them meet their local objectives.

I suspect also that law relating newly created role of Police and Crime Commissioners and Police and Crime Panels may been to tweaked in response to real life experience and Police and Crime Commissioners will have a key role to play there.
